Date: 09/07/2010 Number of Species: 30 Number of Individuals: 622 Location: Tims Ford State Rustic Park, Franklin County TN Observers: Richard Connors with John Froeschauer Notes: plants in bloom most used by butterflies: Lespedeza, thoroughwort and other Eupatoriums, field thistle, daisy fleabane etc. My opinion of Lespedeza has been raised a notch seeing all the buckeyes and skippers and hairstreaks using it. This is the first time I've seen Fiery almost outnumber Sachems. Field thistle was even more popular but there was just less of it. I believe the Gray Hairstreak was the only BAMONA record I got photos of. Most numbers are approximate.
