David Wright has a good paper on the Celastrina; check it out.

  Subject: [TN-Butterflies] Celastrina confusion

While trying to help someone with the differences between Summer and Spring
Azures and also with some of the forms of Springs Azures, I've come across a
lot of conflicting information. The NABA only lists 3 species of Celastrina
while others say there are 8 or 9. Looking through BugGuide there is
conflicting info depending on which page you're on. Here's what they say on the
main Celastrina page.

Note the last line in the Remarks section. Obviously Harry Pavulaan strongly
disagrees with the NABA.

What is the current thinking regarding Celastrina spp. in Tennessee?
