[TN-Butterflies] A couple of BAMONAs for Franklin County

A beautiful hike down to Buggytop Cave in Franklin County last Saturday (3-27-10), resulted in sightings of three new County records, but only two cooperated for photos. A raggedy female Question Mark was out already laying some little green eggs (see photo) and at least 10 Mourning Cloaks, madly patrolled the sunny ridge top trail. Numerous Spring Azures hopped up from the muddy trail but just kept going (no photo)


Also of note were a couple of nice fossil remains. An interesting shell (photo) and a very peculiar 15" bone like structure which still had a few reptilian looking scales attached, (see photos). Can anyone help out with some ideas on what this bone might be?
