Yesterday afternoon (Sunday) at the Greenway in Maryville (Blount County)
there were two male ring-necked ducks among the 100+ Canada geese, like
number of Mallards and approx. 50 coots. The ring-necks were on the water
in the general vicinity of the Blount Co. Library.
Also seen on or near the water were 2 kildeer, a great blue heron, approx.
20 ring-gilled gulls and a very active kingfisher who rattled and fished the
whole time I was there (and I was there a couple of hours). The kingfisher
was fishing near the 2 small wooden bridges.
