Over the week-end Barb and I paddled some rivers
on the Cumberland Plateau on trips she was leading
for the Tennessee Scenic River Association's
Whitewater Rendezvous. While at the Jett river access
point/bridge on Clear Creek, Morgan Co., we heard
a Swainson's Warbler singing; this was the earliest
we have had one in the Obed Wild and Scenic River
system.

Near the confluence of the Emory and Obed rivers
we encountered a flock of ten Northern Shovelers,
an infrequently sighted species in the Obed Wild
and Scenic River.
