House Wrens have been present in Tullahoma, Tn for several years now. At
present, I have

an almost all-day singer outside my bedroom window. They have nested for
the last two years in the yard of Mattie Shockley, in a nest box that she
put up next to her beautifully landscaped rock waterfall. I observed them
last year, going in and out of the nest at building time, and she has
reported to me that they are nesting there again this year. My house is on
McKellar Dr, and Mattie's on Wilson Ave. but our backyards are one lot apart
(Coffee County)

Also we have a new Great Blue Heron colony starting on Northshore Dr, Woods
Reservoir--4 nests in a tall pine with the young flapping wings and very
near to leaving--the tree and nests have been very visible from the road--a
Turkey Vulture has been sitting on a snag nearby for several weeks now--each
nest had at least two young--some maybe three, but it's hard to tell with
all the flapping and jumping around.

Little Elder Island has its usual nesters of Black-crowned Night Herons,
Green Herons, Cattle Egrets, Cormorants, and I sighted close to 100 Black
Terns flying back and forth close to the island during the end of spring
migration.
