Johnny Parks: We aged the female Yellow-headed Blackbird at Rankin Bottom as an adult (after the hatching year). That is mostly based on the lack of any detectable white patch showing in the wing (either wing bars in a juvenile female or white primary coverts in a first year male or adult male). You can find a juvenile female (June-Aug) rendering which is shown in Sibley's (2000) page 512. No, I have not seen an immature female. I hope this helps. Let's go birding....
