Also had my first Wood Thrush (WOTH) of spring this morning in Edgar
Evins State Park (EESP), DeKalb Co., quite late for the first of the
year WOTH in my experience (23 years) in the Upper Cumberland Region of
TN.

BTW, Holly Taylor, who lives and works in EESP, heard FOY Cerulean
Warbler (CERW) there 9 April, slightly eclipsing John Noel's early
DeKalb CERW; I went by her place and heard a singer there this morning,
as well as at the stop sign for the road to the marina, where I have had
many early sightings/listening to CERW in the past. I had my own FOY
CERW in Putnam County yesterday (13 April), right on schedule. Many
American Redstarts, many Blue-winged Warblers, one Yellow Warbler, two
Scarlet Tanagers in western Putnam Co. yesterday as well, all FOY for
me.

Subject: [TN-Bird] Wood Thrush (Davidson Co.)

Just to echo David Aborn's post from Chattanooga, I had my FOS wood
thrush here in Whites Creek

this morning. The individual was not singing it's song, only doing it's
bubbly, percolating call notes.

I was actually out listening for Kentucky warbler, which apparently have
not

arrived yet..... maybe tomorrow.

Good birding,

Ed Schneider

Davidson Co.
