Traveling
Went out this morning after work scouting for the Lebanon Bird Clubs
Birding/Picnic event this coming Saturday at Cedars of Lebanon State Park.
Trying to decide where to take everyone for the birding that starts at 7:30am.
Hit some forested areas and had nice looks at 2 yellow-billed Cuckoo’s, and
heard Wood and Swainson’s Thrushes.Pretty sure I found and area where
Broad-winged Hawks are nesting by the way the bird was whistling and flying
around me where I was stopped. Did not hang around know since in bothering
nesting hawks. I also heard or saw the usually woodland birds. Headed over to
Hebron Rd and ford to check fields for Dickcissel and Grasshopper Sparrow. When
I got to the ford I was surprise to see shorebirds. 2 Spotted, 3 Least
Sandpipers, Semipalm Sandpiper, solitary Sandpiper and a new County bird
White-rumped Sandpiper. This continues Chis Agee’s, Justin Nation’s and my
streak of finally locating shorebirds in Wilson County. Not sure how many that
is this year added to the eBird list for Wilson County, but it’s been a good
run this Spring. Good birding
