Here's to all you Craniacs: It looks as if Saturday morning will most certainly be the day for the departure. As of 9:05 Friday morning the cranes were grounded by strong NNW winds. Wally Akin the refuge manager and my source had been in contact with the migration team. On another note Chris Mahoney and friends saw crane # 6 thermaling with a large number of Sand-hills. Wally thinks it was headed for Georgia based on the direction the group was traveling.
