I would 1st like to echo Jan's sentiments, and thank Daniel Moss for both
finding and getting the word out about the White-tailed Kite in a very timely
manner, and also for being so obliging to get us all into see the bird.
Hopefully it will turn back up, but I don't think past records bode well for
this. I was lucky to be off yesterday, I missed the last TN record, Nancy
Moore's Black Bayou bird, by a day due to having to work. Daniel is a treat to
bird with, as are the Nashvillians, and he really knows his area well. I'm sure
this won't be the last time he'll find something of interest!

The trip home was a contrasts of new arrivals, and winter holdouts. I got my
spring 1st singing White-eyed Vireos and Black-throated Green and
Black-and-White Warblers, along with both Forster's and Caspian Terns at Paris
Landing. On the other hand, still hanging out among the dwindling number of
gulls at Paris Landing was a beautiful, breeding-plumage adult Lesser
Black-backed Gull.

I got a photo of the Lesser Black-backed Gull. I have included this in a photo
album on the website I started, and originally posted about with the photos
from my TX trip. I went back through and picked out several old photos of
generally uncommon birds for the TN area, and have a couple of new albums
entitled "Uncommon to rare local birds". The shot of the Lesser Black-backed
Gull is here, and I will update this as I get new shots. The quality of these
shots vary, as some are very distant.

I recently posted a link to this webpage for anyone interested in shots from my
TX trip. I'm not sure if this post ever made it out for whatever reason, as I
didn't get it at work. If so, I apologize for posting the same subject again,
but these images are still on there as well. The link

Good birding!!!!!
