For over a month I have observed a white-phased Great blue heron in the
Little River near the Kinzel Springs bridge off US 321 before entering Townsend
from Maryville in Blount County. It has also been seen from downstream of the
bridge off the Old Walland Highway that parallels US321 on the east side of
the river.
A Great egret was observed in the same area in late November and again on
the Cades Cove CBC. Photos have been sent to the folks who reported it on the
CBC to see if it was a heron or egret they saw.
Let me know if you would like to see a photo of the heron and I will e-mail
it to you in 140kb file.
