May 22, 2008 I found a little time this morning before work to bird the Limestone-Telford area of Washington County. Many of the shorebirds reported by Rick Knight yesterday were not to be found today, but several notables put in an appearance: Northern Shoveler (2, at pond on Precision Boulevard) Lesser Yellowlegs Spotted Sandpiper (2) Semipalmated Sandpiper (pond at intersection of Kyker Road / Shanks Road) Least Sandpiper (8) Warbling Vireo (3--1 at pond on Precision Boulevard, 1 on Kyker Road 0.2 mile north of Shanks Road, 1 at intersection of Kyker Road / McInturff Road) Grasshopper Sparrow (5) Dickcissel (7, Keebler Road) Gil Derouen and Roy Knispel provided pleasant company during my few minutes at the pond on Precision Boulevard. Nice to bird with you, guys. Hope to spend more field time with you down the road.
