I got a call this morning from Tony Lance (who found the birds), and we met in Springfield and drove back out to see them (between Springfield and Cedar Hill). We had two places where they were eating from the side of the road, three Vespers in the first group, and two in the second for a five Vesper day! In each spot they were quite skittish, and I wasn't able to get any decent photos, but we got some great looks with our binoculars and heard their call notes (no song unfortunately). I was happy to see the blattant white outer tail feathers as they flew away... ....now I'll always know a Vesper when I see one.
