Thanks to all who have ID'd the Heron in this pic as an immature Yellow
Crowned Night Heron. I would never have figured it out myself. I have
seen Black Crowned Night Herons at Land Between the Lakes, but never a
Yellow Crowned one especially an immature as this one is. The bird only
visited for an hour or two during a downpour while the Green Heron below
it and its mate have nested on the pond for at least 5 years.
