There have been contradictions on whether sightings of tagged
Ring-billed Gulls should continued to be reported. I asked Tom Seamans,
a researcher with the project, about this. His reply follows. I urge all
that have observed a tagged gull or see a bird in the future to report
every tagged gull observation including multiply sightings. Tagging
birds is time consuming and every observation is important.

Yes, I am still interested in the sightings. We do have a good idea of
where ring-billed gulls from the Great Lakes region winter but this
information will give us some additional information on the Chicago
gulls. Also, I am especially interested to learn if there is a
reporting difference between the 4 tag colors that we applied.

Thank you for your interest in this project. I look forward to your
sighting reports!
