TENNESSEE ORNITHOLOGICAL SOCIETY Just a few reminders: In case you haven't looked at your TN Warbler newsletter yet, the place and dates for the TOS Fall Meeting have been set: CHATTANOOGA, NOVEMBER 7, 8 and 9, 2008. This information is in the newsletter and on the TOS web site: _http://www.tnbirds.org/_ (http://www.tnbirds.org/) The weekend includes field trips Saturday and Sunday mornings, Saturday afternoon Paper Session, and TOS Board of Directors meeting late Saturday afternoon, as well as Friday evening registration and social time. CTOS president David Stone will provide update on specifics of field trips to local birding hot spots as needed. The Paper Session will again be directed by Chuck Nicholson. Please contact Chuck and plan to share your interesting bird related project. This is always one of the highlights of the TOS year. Chapter presidents please identify your Board of Directors members, and if they do not plan to attend, please provide us with proxy forms etc. I know November is a ways off yet but it doesn't hurt to plan now. Other things to look for on the web site and in the newsletter: TOS GRANTS: Applications are now being accepted for TOS Conservation and Research Grants for '08 - '09. Support is available for projects benefiting Tennessee birds. TOS Spring Meeting 2009 will be in Nashville 1st weekend in May. The dates have been re-set to early May as this is best timing for occurrence of much sought-after Connecticut & Mourning warblers in middle Tennessee. Winter '09 meeting place and dates to be decided at the fall meeting, and will be somewhere good for winter birding.
