[TN-Bird] Re: Swainson's Thrush (Greene Co., TN)

I have also been hearing Swainson's over my Hamblen Co. home the last week
between 6:10 and 6:40....I picked out one Veery last week, but there is a lot
of traffic, dogs, train noise ect. to "impeed" my listen pleasure. I have not
determined a "good" way to estimate if the same bird is making multiple calls,
Based on the speed that American Robins fly over in the evening light, I
usually divide the total calls by two.....any thoughts (or scientific
guidelines) on how one can estimate?

I hope to travel to a rural "quiet" location soon for a better count.
