Tn-birders, 4 of us had the Snowy Owl from the Cracker Barrel parking lot next to the filed framed by the Saturn Parkway and highway 31. This is the northeast corner of the interchange. We had it about 11 a.m. (eastern time). We then went to eat lunch and came back around 12:30 for a final look but did NOT see the bird anywhere. So if at first you don't see it, spend some time driving around the intersection and checking the fileds on all the corners. On our way home we stopped in at Booker T. Washington park in Hamilton County (Chattanooga area). When we got to the water, we found the Pacific Loon that Terry Witt found a few days ago straight out in the main channel, about half way across the water. There were about 60-75 Common Loons in the area and at one point the Pacific was right next to a Common, giving a superb side-by-side comparison. The Pacific was feeding a lot so it was up and down the whole time we watched it, moving pretty quickly both up and down the river. Great birding.
