Sat. May 1st.
Between the rain I was able to get out of the office and get around Shelby
farms twice during the day.

Many of the Fields and the road was flooded over by the Senior Garden but I was
treated to a great two short outings.

In the flooded fields and near the senior Garden saw the following(outside the
normal)

2 groups of Bobolinks one with 6 and one with 14 (got my first pics of these)
22 Blue winged teal
Many Large flocks of shorebirds moving across the fields in flocks.
I am not great at idenifying these so am only counting here what I have
"confirmed pics of"
2 Mississippi Kites
1 Coyote trying to figure out how to get to a group of Canada geese in the
rain. (he was not having much success)

4   Greater yellowlegs,
26 Lesser yellowlegs,   Possibly several other large groups
1 long billed Dowitcher
1 Pectoral Sandpiper
4 Solitary sandpiper
3 Least Sandpipers
and lots of other shorebirds that I am unsure of but have pics of both in
flight and somewhat (Stationary)
I sure wish I was better at identifying these guys!!!

Then at Patriot lake I found (In pouring rain) and got photos of the following!!
1 Ring Billed Gull
1 Laughing Gull Adult  and
3 Forster's Terns

I had seen last Saturday (April 24th)what I "believe to be a Caspian tern but
could not get a good pic and can not confirm for sure!!

Don,t let storms Keep you in the House!!!!

Bill
