With so many talented birders in Chattanooga and Jim Peters practically
next door, it's awfully difficult to get a seasonal bird that somebody
hasn't already seen. So I'm reporting some FOSIMOYs (First Of the Season in
My Own Yard).

Yesterday (Nov. 10) there was a Yellow-bellied sapsucker hanging like a
chickadee in some outer brances of at least two different deciduous trees
in my yard. There was also one adult male Purple finch along with at least
three female/immature types on my mixed (black oil and gray-striped)
sunflower seed.

I have been lucky enough to find an incredibly wonderful bird.
