Yesterday a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was found by Nathan Snell on a
perimeter fence to the Nashville International Airport near the corner of
Knight Valley Drive and Murfreesboro Pike. A number of birders went out and
saw the bird for a county tick. It continued in the same location until at
least 3pm, but Nathan reported to me that he looked at 4pm and couldn't
find it - though there is a ton of appropriate habitat at the airport.
Scissor-tailed Flycatcher expansion in TN has been dramatic and
well-documented. They are very well established in Rutherford, Wilson, and
other counties, yet Davidson County has largely been avoided. This appears
