First, to wrap up things for Friday (1 Oct), after work I was able to add C Grackle, Song Sparrow, E Phoebe, and Bay-breasted Warbler to bring the day's total in the yard to 51 with 11 warbler species. Also forgot to mention that I had a FOF Golden-crowned Kinglet which, like Bill, was a new early date. Apparently there was a southward push of this species across a wide front Thursday night as there were also several FOF reports across NC on Friday. Saturday morning was a little less active but still a good day with 40 species including 7 warbler species before leaving to run errands. Highlights included a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, another new early arrival date. Also a kettle of at least 29 Broad-winged Hawks heading south along the ridge.
