Willie had no trouble finding the feeder at 6:33 a.m. but he had a lot of difficulty hitting a port on the feeder. The wind is so strong that there is sugar water blown almost 10 feet across the deck and the feeder is rocking around like a ship in a storm. But after the quick visit to be sure the feeder was there, he persisted and finally sat and drank on the third visit. With the knowledge God put in him, he no doubt is aware colder weather is coming and he will drink much more than normal today. It's amazing to me how much wisdom there is in the little brain of a hummer that never opened a book! Makes me feel comparatively dumb after 20 years of formal education.
