30 Aug 2011 Rankin Bottoms Cocke Co., TN Rack Cross just telephoned to report that the Ruff was still being seen early this morning. He said the Ruff was in a different location and it was best seen by driving beyond the coal tipple to the next clearing, walking to the flats and looking in the direction of the big brick house with white columns. In addition, Scott Somershoe of Nashville birded there Monday evening by kayak and had (among other birds) -- 23 Buff-breasted Sandpipers 1 Baird's Sandpiper 1 American Golden-Plover 1 Peregrine Falcon Cross said he and Tracy Slagle birded there 5:30 p.m. to about 8:30 p.m.Monday (29 Aug) and saw Scott who had brought a kayak in his Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency truck.
