Clarksville, Montgomery County 10 am-noon Sunny, breezy, humid 80 degrees Dear Birders... Steve and I decided to venture out this morning to Rotary Park here in Clarksville. We hadn't been there in a couple weeks so we were anxious to see what was still around. Highlights included good looks at a Broad-winged Hawk soaring close overhead, a sitting Red-Shouldered Hawk, long looks at Swainson's, Wood and Gray-cheeked Thrushes, at least 10 Acadian Flycatchers, great looks at about half dozen Common Yellow-throats and as many Yellow-breasted Chats. We also had a singing Kentucky Warbler and a Louisiana Waterthrush along the creek plus Prairie, Cape May and several Northern Parula singing. We enjoyed the call of a close Barred Owl as well as a singing Yellow-billed Cuckoo. We also had at least 5 Summer Tanagers and a Scarlett Tanager. In total 40 species in those 2 hours. Well worth the short trip over there on this Sunday morning. As always, Happy Birding! <") ( \ / |` Cyndi and Steve Routledge "When one tugs at a single thing in Nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world." ~John Muir =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
