The US Fish and Wildlife Service today anounced the release of the revised draft recovery plan for the Whooping Crane. The announcement is in today's Federal Register at http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/01jan20051800/edocket.access.gpo.gov /2005/pdf/05-31.pdf. According to the announcement, the recovery plan is supposed to be available online at www.fws.gov; however it is not posted there yet. It should also be available at http://endangered.fws.gov/, but again is not there yet. The Federal Register announcement includes instructions on how to obtain a copy of the plan on CD. Comments on the recovery plan are due March 14, 2005. Those of you who have been participating in and/or closely following Operation Migration and other whooping crane recovery efforts will probably find this revised plan interesting.
