Apparently as a mom of an infant I'm the one to call to place posts to TN Birds. Jean Alexander just called (1:45 pm Saturday 9/18) to say that there are 2 RED NECKED PHALAROPES at the Sewage Ponds at Cades Cove. Jim Human found them at 9am. He was joined by Paul Hardigan and then later by David Johnson, Jean Alexander and June Welch at 11:30. When Jean et al left at 12:45 the birds were still there and cooperative. Jean noted that they had streaks on the back and dark bills. One had a dark cap.
