Radnor Lake State Natural Area Walter S. Davis Blvd Marsh Davidson Co., TN 2012 Apr. 4 At Radnor Lake this morning highlights of a walk to Long Bridge and back included a HORNED GREBE, singing YELLOW-THROATED VIREO and my first of the year singing NASHVILLE WARBLER at Long Bridge that was also seen. At the marsh near TSU, the COMMON GOLDENEYE was gone this morning although I did see it at about 4 pm yesterday. It was replaced by a female RING-NECKED DUCK and a male HOODED MERGANSER. Shorebirds continued on the mud with 4 KILLDEER, 2 SOLITARY SANDPIPERs, 6 PECTORAL SANDPIPERs, and 6 WILSON's SNIPE. A check of the marsh late yesterday by Phillip Casteel produced a SORA. So the spot will continue to be worth checking this spring for a variety of marsh and shorebirds.
