As explained in the letter below, the Friends of Radnor Lake are trying to=
=20
raise money for the purchase of land near the South Cove Trail which will=20
otherwise be developed. If FORL can't close the funding gap (about=20
$150,000) by month's end, they will back out of the deal. This is a=20
critical acquisition, and one they have been working on for several=20
years. Since many people outside Nashville are aware of the beauty of=20
Radnor Lake, I am passing along this information. More information can be=20
found on Radnor's web page at: http://www.radnorlake.org

(A letter from the President of Friends of Radnor Lake)

May 10, 2004

Dear Friend of Radnor Lake,

We are writing with exciting and urgent news. The Friends of Radnor Lake=20
have signed a contract to purchase 6 undeveloped lots in the Radnor Glen=20
Subdivision. These lots are adjacent to the ridge of the South Cove Trail,=
=20
and in fact, come within 10 feet of the trail. Imagine hiking at Radnor and=
=20
seeing someone=92s back deck or listening to the roar of leaf blowers or=20
mowers. The Friends group is dedicated to our mission of protecting and=20
preserving the integrity of Radnor Lake, and we are excited about the=20
purchase of this land.

Urgency lies in the time remaining to raise the balance of funds needed to=
=20
complete the purchase. We have 30 days to raise $150,000. Thanks to the=20
many supporters who have purchased Radnor Lake License Plates and made=20
donations to the Friends group, we already have $25,000 toward that goal.

Radnor Lake is important to each of us, to our community and the wildlife=20
that inhabit the area. It is our charge to protect Radnor for both the=20
present and the future, and we need your help now. Please consider donating=
=20
money to the Radnor Glen Acquisition Fund today. There are several ways to=
=20
do so. You can mail the enclosed return envelope to the Friends of Radnor=20
Lake, stop by the Visitor Center and put your donation in the Radnor Glen=20
lockbox, or donate on-line at www.radnorlake.org.

We=92ll be marking our progress on a sign at the Visitor Center and look=20
forward to the celebration of the purchase and preservation of this=20
threatened land to enhance the Radnor Lake Natural Area.

Thank you,

Ann Tidwell
President, Friends of Radnor Lake
