Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Davidson Co., TN
2012 April 24
7-9 am
Partly Cloudy, cool

After visiting Dauphin Island, Alabama over the weekend I went out
to Radnor Lake this Tuesday morning. I walked just a short way up
the Spillway Trail from the west parking lot, and found a pair of
PURPLE FINCHes. I managed to see the female but only heard the male
singing before I watched what was presumably the male chase the
female away. Shortly afterward in the same area, while trying
to refind the finches, I heard a CONNECTICUT WARBLER sing part of
its song just once, and then it shut up as I waited another 10-15
minutes for another song or a miraculous view. NO LUCK. Perhaps
the NTOS Wednesday walkers will refind it.
