[TN-Bird] RED CROSSBILLS at Carver's Gap

Gil Derouen, Glen Eller and I spent the morning on Roan Mountain (Carter 
County), mainly at Carver's Gap.  Highlights:

Tree line across from the grassy area used for field trip car assembly at the 
Roan Mountain Rallies

The Red Crossbills landed in a dead spruce near where the Appalachian Trail 
starts up to the Balds.  They then flew down to an area of fine gravel at the 
entry to the Trail and picked gravel.
