The Pileated Woodpecker cavity that I have reported about seems to have new
residents--NORTHERN FLICKERS. Yesterday a pair of flickers flew in and out a
bit and perched on top of the dead, standing tree. Today a FLICKER is actually
inside of the cavity for quite a while. I'll let you know more as I learn/watch.

Other birds on property: They have done some mowing (though not the whole
field due to my requests) for a fundraiser this weekend. Since then I have not
heard the GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS. Last year they mowed and the sparrows did
return. So I'm hoping the same will be true.

This morning I was able to hear (though not see) the WILLOW FLYCATCHER in the
marsh behind Dalen (most easily gotten to from Lovell Rd in the parking lot
across from the cement plant).
