4/28/12 We had a pretty good day for our bird count, and got a total of 99 species collectively, 26 of which were warblers. First time for the year were orange crowned, nashville, chestnut sided, magnolia, blackburnian, palm, and blackpoll. We also found about 45 willets at a local pond, 6 sparrow species, 4 vireo species including warbling vireo, 5 flycatcher species, and lots of baltimore orioles and rose breasted grosbeaks. We could not find the black billed cuckoo and least flycatcher that we found earlier this week. We are going again in the morning, the warbler migration is intense! Good luck! Ruben.
