This afternoon I walked about a mile and a half of the west section of the
North Boundary Trail in Roane County, Tennessee. The high point for me was
watching a Prothonotary Warbler drying off after bathing in the water near the
large beaver dam. The warbler perched on a limb and preened, fluttered its
wings and occasionally sang for at least 5 minutes. I also had a brief look at
a Blue-headed Vireo. Other highlights included:

3 Northern Parulas,

2 Yellow-throated warblers

2 Indigo Buntings

1 Yellow Warbler

4 White-eyed Vireos

4+ Red-eyed Vireos (managed to see one of them)

1 Acadian Flycatcher

3 Eastern Phoebes

3 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers

1 Scarlet Tanager

1 or 2 Pileated Woodpeckers (one was perched high in a dead tree, the other was
heard only and may have been a flicker)

I also heard what may have been a Blue-winged Warbler but I'm not sure and I
never could find it.

Looked like it was going to storm when I started out but it cleared up and
turned out to be nice weather for a walk.
