My mother birded with me today along the north end of Songbird Trail below
Norris Dam (Anderson Co.). We didn't get there until almost noon and it was
cool and a little breezy but we still did well with 12 warbler species and a
few first-of-season winter birds. No Hummers or thrushes but lots of Tree
Swallows today.
~12:00 - 2:10pm:
American Redstart - 3-4
Bay-breasted Warbler - 2-3
Black-and-White Warbler - 1+
Blackburnian Warbler - 2
Black-throated Green Warbler - 4
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 2-3
Hooded Warbler - 2-3
Magnolia Warbler - 5+
Nashville Warbler - 1 (f.o.s)
Palm Warbler - 2
Tennessee Warbler - 3-4
Yellow-rumped Warbler - several (f.o.s.)
Blue-headed Vireo - 2
White-eyed Vireo - 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 2 (f.o.s.)
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 3-4
Tanager species - 1 flyby
Eastern Wood Pewee - 4-5
White-throated Sparrow - 1 (f.o.s.)
Chipping Sparrow - 2
Tree Swallow - 50+
Cedar Waxwing
Brown Thrasher - 1
Barred Owl - 1 heard
