A friend who is not a birder, but enjoys seeing the Purple Martin roost
site, has visited the site two night running, and tonight, Thursday, July
26, said there was shooting at the roost. He could not see the shooter or
shooters nor knows about types of guns, but every time shots rang out the
martins went up into the air. He called the non-emergency number, but did
not see a response from the police. He plans to go tomorrow night and take
some of the neighborhood children to see the roost.
