Feb. 20, 2010 Greene Co. (Western) 1630-1800 A trip this afternoon around W. Greene county produced 39 species. The Juacime Bible WMA is closed until March, but driving around the edges produced a nice covey of 11 N.Bobwhite feeding in a neighboring yard. They were only 20 yards from heavy cover but let me drive slowly past them without spooking them. The Red-shouldered hawk was perched low in a wet scrub area, classic frog hunting situation. I had some nice back-lighting from the late afternoon sun as the ducks came in to roost and picked out 5 Black Ducks along with a male Green-winged teal....among many many mallards. I heard many more ducks on in the refuge but I have to wait a couple of more weeks to get closer. Keep on brdn, Ben Britton Morristown, Hamblen co. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Trusted email with powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/201469227/direct/01/ =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
