Alice Loftin, Linda Northrop, and I birded Musick's Lakeside Campground and nearby areas briefly this afternoon. Birds were few, but we did find the following: Osprey (appeared on VA side, flew into trees on TN side); Spotted Sandpiper (along shoreline at mouth of Spring Creek on VA shore); Cooper's Hawk (along Virginia shore a short distance downstream from Washington County Park); Caspian Tern (3 flying back and forth across state line at campground); Bank Swallow (flying across "parking lot" point in front of campground).
