Doing my migration banding at Greenway Farm yesterday, in addition to 5
cardinals and a chickadee, I had some more first-of-seasons. I banded a
Worm-eating Warbler (FOS), along with a Wood Thrush and a Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher. I also heard my first Ovenbird of the spring. There were Red-eyed
Vireos, White-eyed Vireos, and a Great Crested Flycatcher out there as well. My
graduate students reported a Prothonotary Warbler, Northern Waterthrush,
Orchard Oriole, Baltimore Oriole, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and 3 Blue-winged
Teal at the Curtain Pole section of Amnicola Marsh.
