Birders,
We have all heard of farmers that have lost a cow or
horse to hunters who don't know the difference between a deer or livestock,
painting the word "cow", "horse", etc. on their animal to prevent another one
being needlessly shot by a careless or ignorant hunter. I can't quite imagine
how the word "CRANE" could be put on the side of a Whooper but it is food for
thought. Maybe something very reflective would work. Bigger fines, manditory
jail time, loss of a hunting license forever might be incentives for hunters to
think again before shooting whatever moves!
There should be uncomfortable consequences.
