Mr. Pratt & other birders, One of my favorite migration stories (see CNN.com, April 18, 2002) involves a 50-year old manx shearwater, recaptured a year ago last Friday. Based on the birds known migration route (Britain to South America I believe), feeding forays, and estimated age, it is thought that this bird has probably covered 5 million miles in its lifetime - the equivalent of 10 round trips to the moon! (It impresses Cub Scouts but I don't know about senior citizens!). Please share any good migration stories you receive & good luck with your talk......... W.
