Sorry if this is a repeat, but I tried posting this earlier, and it never came through either listserv. Phillip Casteel Nashville, TN Sept 1, 2004 Kentucky Dam Frank Fekel and I saw the Long-tailed Jaeger from the east most pull off on Kentucky dam this morning at 9:10. It was probably half a mile away at times, but came closer on several occasions, allowing fairly decent looks. During this time it chased a Ring-billed Gull, and later a stubborn Osprey who refused to drop his lunch. We were able to get a couple of Indiana birders on it before we left to explore other areas. Later, we stopped back at the pull off at 11:45, and soon found the bird again, this time much closer, and watched as it buzzed a fishing boat. The fisherman must have had a great view, as the Jaeger flew to within a few feet of his boat. We also watched as it chased a passing Caspian Tern. Thanks to all who posted info on this great bird.
