At The Farm today (5/28/07) in far southeastern Lewis County with
Cynthia Rohrbach, in their big unmowed broomsedge field: Henslow's
Sparrows everywhere! My estimate was 13 singing males, plus two
fledglings, one full-sized juvenile, and 3 additional birds not seen
well enough to tell age. Quite a colony there this year, with
nesting success already. Cynthia says she had the first singing bird
there on March 31 this spring.
