Let's make that a Canoe and "Kayak" trip. I have no idea what a "kayka" is. Driving time from Knoxville to Rankin  is  at least an hour, with time for a bathroom break along the way. There are no restrooms at Rankin Bottoms.   Directions and more information about Rankin Bottoms are at:  http://www.tnbirds.org/birdfinding/RankinBottoms.htm The trip should last about 2.5 hours, so bring sunscreen, hat, drinking water, life jackets, and boat shoes, if possible. Please coordinate with Michael regarding canoe/kayak space. That is, if you want to go and don't have a canoe, or if you have a canoe and are willing to take passengers, by May 11. There are some extra canoes and equipment currently available. Michael would accept a $25 donation to support the Rankin Project for using the canoes and equipment if you can make that contribution.
