Today at one of my hummer feeders I saw a Humming Bird flying around with what
looked like a 3 inch tangle of spider webs, tiny dead vines and who knows what
else dangling down from it's right foot. It didn't seem to slow it down. I
have seen hummers before that had a lot of white spider webs wrapped around one
foot and leg that just got tighter and bigger through the summer. But this
topped them all. It was as long as the bird. I felt like I had to get it off
but of course I couldn't get near it.
Does anyone else have this problem? Seems like it would occur to the bird to
simply take it off with it's bill. I guess their not programmed to clean their
feet.
