Fantastic! The different birds are gathering again. Yesterday was damp, humid with low rather dark clouds, and fog on the mountains all day. Looking out the windows all day to check the birds I would see several titmice, about 4 chickadees, goldfinches, several molting song sparrows, humming birds.......... the regular ones. Then I glanced a black bird with a white breast... a really black head.... but I only saw the head...a warbler head? Looking some more I realized there were birds moving through the crepe myrtle by the front door, into the dogwood and into the tall snowball bush on the opposite side of the driveway. Lots of them! It was fantastic.... There were several that I did not get a good view of .. there was more than one of all the ones I identified: Black-throated blue (male and female) Chestnut-sided (fall dressing) Ruby-crown kinglet Vireo...white-eyed Titmouse Chick-a-dee Goldfinch Song sparrow Humming bird White-breasted nuthatch Mourning doves There has been around all week a sparrow I can't identify. Rather small, smaller than song sp.;a white breast with rather thin black lines; pink legs and a rather pink normal sized bill; no eyering; and a brown sparrow back??????
