We are excited about the birds coming to our yard in this hot month. Sunday
evening we had the most beautiful Northern Waterthrush I've ever seen sit at
eye level about 50 feet away on a wire that goes to the electric pole. Monday
we had Black and White Warbler and this morning a female Kentucky Warbler
raised our heart rate as she perched just six feet off the ground in a tree not
twenty feet from the deck. These make 23 species of warblers for the year in
our yard and 59 species of birds for the month of July. The Ruby-throated
Hummingbirds are emptying six feeders twice a day; when the babies all begin
drinking too we're going to be very busy keeping them filled.
