Keeping up the theme of record-early arrivals for boreal nesters that seems to be predominating this fall, I had my earliest ever Golden- crowned Kinglet this morning (10/01/2010) at y place in western Lewis County. Along with the earlier species (Yellow-rumped Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, and Winter Wren) this makes four record early local arrivals in the last week.
