This afternoon, April 1, at about 1:15 a Fish Crow perched and called for about 15 minutes in Lakeshore Park off Lyons View Pike in West Knoxville. The bird was near the .5 mile greenway trail marker in the trees along the main channel of Ft. Loudoun Lake near the golfing area. It flew to the largest tree among the softball fields and then to another tree near the hill. You could hear its calls from pretty far away. It called the entire time. When it left, it flew down river in the direction of Lyons Island where a Great Blue Heron rookery is located. I was at the park until 4:15 but never saw or heard it again.
